The engine

MHP-8

Twin-Turbo V8 Hybrid

A clean-sheet 4.0L flat-plane-crank twin-turbo V8 fused with a Formula E-grade electric motor, delivering savage, instant response and a screaming top end, with combined output of around 1,258 hp.

Designated MHP-8, it is an all-new McLaren engine designed from the ground up specifically for hybrid integration, succeeding the P1 as McLaren's most powerful road car ever.

The V8 alone makes around 915 hp, giving the highest specific output of any McLaren engine at roughly 229 hp per liter.
Its radial-flux electric motor is said to ape the performance of a Formula E car's motor.
It uses a 350-bar direct-injection system combined with port injection to boost performance without hurting emissions.
