The engine

4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 PHEV

Twin-Turbo V8 Plug-in Hybrid

A flat-plane-crank twin-turbo V8 paired with a trio of electric motors for a savage, instant-torque hypercar punch; the e-motors drive the front wheels and fill power between gearshifts for relentless acceleration.

The V8 is a heavily reworked version of Mercedes-AMG's GT Black Series engine, given new heads, camshafts and turbochargers; Aston Martin developed the three-motor hybrid system and eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox in-house.

The flat-plane-crank V8 alone makes around 816 hp, and the combined hybrid system delivers over 1,060 hp.
It uses AMG's high-discharge 6.1-kWh battery, but the motors and dual-clutch transmission are Aston Martin's own design.
Two of the three motors drive the front wheels individually for torque vectoring, helping the Valhalla hit 0-62 mph in about 2.5 seconds.
