A ferociously high-revving twin-turbo V8 that spins to 8,500 rpm and barks with an exotic, even-firing wail thanks to its flat-plane crank. Its signature is near-instant response despite forced induction.

Designed and built entirely in-house by Koenigsegg in Ängelholm, Sweden — the company famously engineers its own engines rather than sourcing them, a rarity among low-volume makers.

The Jesko's crankshaft weighs just 12.5 kg, billed by Koenigsegg as the world's lightest production V8 crank.
Koenigsegg switched from a cross-plane to a flat-plane crank for this engine and uses active engine mounts to tame the vibration that layout normally causes.
On E85 fuel it produces up to 1,600 hp, making it among the most powerful production combustion engines ever offered.
