The verdict

What's good

  • First clutch pedal and open-gate lever on a new Ferrari in fourteen years, which is the whole reason it exists
  • The big V12 stays naturally aspirated while everyone else went turbo or hybrid
  • Guaranteed collectible before the first one is even delivered

What's not

  • Costs meaningfully more than the identical car with the faster automatic
  • All 1,499 build slots will be spoken for before most buyers hear about it
  • The by-wire clutch purists are being sold is still electronics playing dress-up

The engine

6.5L NA V12

Naturally Aspirated V12

The same free-breathing 6.5-litre V12 as the 12Cilindri, here bolted to a clutch pedal and an open-gate lever, so every one of its 9,500 revolutions has to be met by your own left foot and right hand.

Built in Maranello as the F140HD evolution (as in the 12Cilindri) of the F140 family launched in the 2002 Enzo — the bloodline that traces back to Ferrari’s original Colombo V12 of 1947.
