5.2L Supercharged V8

A supercharged cross-plane V8 that hits like a freight train — a deep, blown-V8 bellow backed by a wall of low-end torque, whether launching a Raptor R over the desert or a GTD around a track.

Ford's Predator V8, born for the 2020 Shelby GT500, swaps the flat-plane Voodoo's crank for a cross-plane unit and adds a roots-type supercharger; it's the most celebrated modern Ford V8, tracing back through the Modular family.

The Raptor R uses a torque-focused variant of the Predator nicknamed 'Carnivore,' retuned for low-end grunt off-road rather than top-end power.
In the track-bred Mustang GTD — developed from the Mustang GT3 racer — the Predator makes it the most powerful production Mustang ever.
Switching from the Voodoo's flat-plane crank to a cross-plane design gave the Predator its characteristic deep, traditional American V8 rumble.
