A brawny, supercharger-whined V8 that delivers its shove instantly and never lets up, turning a three-ton luxury SUV into something that pins you to the seat with a deep, menacing roar.

GM's hand-built LT4 is a fifth-generation Small Block descended from the C6 Corvette ZR1's LS9 and the C7 Stingray's LT1, and it has powered the Corvette Z06, Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac's CT5-V Blackwing.

Each LT4 is assembled by a single technician at GM's Performance Build Center, who signs a plaque fitted to the engine.
The Escalade-V uses a physically larger 2.65-liter supercharger than the CT5-V Blackwing, making it the most powerful production Escalade ever built.
The blower spins to roughly 13,500 rpm to generate its boost.
