The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is part of the Volkswagen Group's 'hot-vee' EA825 family co-developed by Porsche and Audi, paired here with a Porsche-integrated electric motor inside the eight-speed gearbox.

• The turbochargers sit in the V of the engine (a 'hot-vee' layout) to shorten gas paths and sharpen throttle response.
• Fuel injection pressure was raised to 350 bar to improve efficiency and emissions.
