Twin-Turbo V6

Replaces the QX80's old naturally aspirated V8 with a smoother, harder-pulling twin-turbo six that delivers torque earlier and shrugs off the SUV's mass without the V8 thirst.

Part of Nissan's celebrated VR family of turbocharged V6s, engineered in Japan and sharing its lineage with the VR30DDTT of the Nissan Z and the legendary VR38DETT of the GT-R.

The 2025 QX80 was the first time a twin-turbo V6 replaced the V8 that had powered the QX56/QX80 since 2004.
Its VR family relatives include the GT-R's VR38DETT, which is hand-assembled by a single Takumi master technician.
Paired with a new nine-speed automatic offering a roughly 40% wider gear-ratio range than the outgoing seven-speed.
