2.0L Turbo I4 (Electric Turbo, MHEV)

The world's most powerful series-production four-cylinder, it spins hard and sharp with near-zero turbo lag, backed by a 48-volt system that fills any gaps with instant electric shove.

Hand-assembled at AMG's Affalterbach home under the 'One Man, One Engine' philosophy; this longitudinal M139l variant is engineered specifically for AMG's 43- and 63-series models.

Its electric exhaust-gas turbocharger, with a small motor spinning the turbo shaft, is derived directly from Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 technology.
A belt-driven starter-generator adds a momentary electric boost of roughly 13 hp at low rpm to sharpen response.
It is the only production engine in the world to use an electrically assisted turbocharger of this type.
