From Honda's long-running J-series, a 60-degree V6 family that has powered the MDX since the model's 2001 debut, evolving through decades of i-VTEC refinement.

Unlike Honda's older 90-degree C-series, the J-series uses a 60-degree vee for a more compact package.
Modern MDX versions pair i-VTEC with Variable Cylinder Management, letting the engine deactivate cylinders to save fuel when cruising.
