3.0L Mild-Hybrid I6

A modern straight-six with the inherent smoothness that layout is famous for, its 48-volt mild-hybrid system filling low-rpm gaps with an electric supercharger for crisp, lag-free response.

Part of Jaguar Land Rover's in-house Ingenium engine family, this inline-six was announced in 2019 and is built at JLR's billion-pound Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, England.

A 48-volt architecture powers an electric supercharger that spins up instantly to fill torque before the main turbo spools.
A belt-driven starter-generator lets the engine shut off while coasting and restart seamlessly, recovering energy that would otherwise be lost.
JLR returned to the inline-six layout after years of V6s, valuing its natural balance and packaging fit alongside the mild-hybrid hardware.
