A smooth, free-revving 60-degree V6 with a refined character that has quietly powered Honda's family haulers for over two decades, prized for durability.

The J-series debuted as the J35A1 in the 1999 Odyssey; unlike Honda's older 90-degree C-series, the J was a 60-degree design built solely for transverse mounting, and it has spawned more than two dozen variants.

The same J35 powered every first-generation Ridgeline, and the engine family is now in its fourth decade of production.
The latest J35Y8 in the current Pilot, Passport and Ridgeline is a DOHC design that actually drops VTEC, using variable timing on both cams instead.
