The engine

VR35DDTT

Twin-Turbo V6

A modern twin-turbo six that replaces the old V8 with more torque, lower in the rev range, giving the big Armada effortless, refined thrust on regular fuel.

Introduced in the 2025 Armada and Patrol, the VR35DDTT carries the 'VR' twin-turbo lineage Nissan made famous in the GT-R, applied here to a body-on-frame SUV.

Despite being turbocharged, it is tuned to run on regular unleaded rather than premium, an unusual choice for a forced-induction performance V6.
It out-torques the V8 it replaced by over 100 lb-ft while adding roughly 25 horsepower.
The cylinder bores use a mirror-bore coating instead of traditional liners to cut internal friction.
