Turbo I6 Mild Hybrid

A smooth, longitudinally mounted turbo inline-six with 48-volt mild-hybrid assist, giving the rear-biased CX-90 refined, torque-rich and premium-feeling power delivery unusual for a Mazda.

Mazda's first inline-six of the modern era, developed specifically for the new Large Product Group platform with a longitudinal layout and rear-biased AWD, a deliberate move upmarket.

The high-output H3T version makes up to 340 hp on premium fuel and 369 lb-ft of torque.
Its M Hybrid Boost 48-volt system adds an integrated starter-generator with a small 0.33 kWh battery for extra torque and smoothness.
Mazda chose an inline-six and rear-drive-biased layout to chase the longitudinal, premium feel of German rivals rather than its usual transverse front-drive packaging.
