Mazda's clean-sheet 3.3-liter turbo six, launched in the 2024 CX-90 as the brand's first inline-six in decades and a deliberate bet on rear-biased, premium-feeling powertrains for North America.

Mazda revived the inline-six layout, long abandoned by most rivals for packaging reasons, specifically to chase the configuration's natural balance and refinement.
The CX-90 and CX-70 were Mazda's first production models with electrified powertrains in North America.
Its M Hybrid Boost system uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid motor to fill torque gaps rather than provide standalone electric drive.
