A 'hot-vee' twin-turbo V8 with savage, immediate boost, now backed by an electric motor inside the gearbox that fills any turbo lag and makes the super-SUV launch with instant, relentless shove.

A heavily reworked version of the Volkswagen Group's EA825 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 (shared with Audi RS and Porsche Cayenne), re-engineered by Lamborghini for the Urus and paired with a plug-in hybrid system in the SE.

The V8 uses a 'hot-vee' layout with the twin turbochargers nestled inside the cylinder banks for sharper throttle response and a more compact package.
Lamborghini's PHEV version slots a 141 kW electric motor between the engine and the 8-speed automatic, letting the Urus run on electric power alone and torque-fill instantly.
Lamborghini reworked the engine well beyond its Porsche Cayenne Turbo relative, including new cylinder heads, for noticeably more power and torque.
