The engine

B58

3.0L Turbo Inline-6

A silken, single-turbo straight-six with a deep well of mid-range torque and huge tuning headroom, giving the Supra a smooth, surging character that nods to its forebears.

The engine is BMW's B58 inline-six, and the GR Supra itself is assembled alongside the BMW Z4 by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, as part of a Toyota-BMW collaboration.

The B58 is a regular fixture on Ward's 10 Best Engines list, repeatedly honoured since its 2016 debut.
For the Supra's Final Edition, Toyota worked to push the B58 to around 429 hp, its most potent factory tune in the car.
Though built by BMW, the inline-six layout deliberately echoes the legendary 2JZ that powered the previous Mk4 Supra.
