The verdict

What's good

  • First all-wheel-drive Corvette ever
  • Electric front wheels claw in the rain
  • Silent electric-only crawl mode
  • V8 soundtrack with hybrid punch

What's not

  • No plug — battery is small
  • Heavier than a standard Corvette
  • Tight footwell and pedal spacing
  • Wide body tricky in narrow spots

The engine

6.2L V8 + Electric Motor Hybrid

6.2L V8 + Front Electric Motor Hybrid eAWD

The naturally aspirated LT2 V8 howls behind the cockpit while a front-axle electric motor adds instant low-end pull, giving a combined 655 hp and a startling 2.5-second 0-60 mph with all-wheel-drive traction.

This is Chevrolet's mid-engine C8 Corvette platform fitted with the same 6.2L LT2 V8 as the Stingray, now augmented by a GM-developed front e-motor to create the first electrified, all-wheel-drive Corvette in the model's history.
