The engine

M840T

Twin-Turbo Flat-Plane V8

A flat-plane-crank V8 that spins to 8,500 rpm with a hard, metallic top-end shriek and explosive, lag-light boost, defining the savage character of the 750S and its track-bred siblings.

Designed by McLaren in partnership with Ricardo and hand-assembled at Ricardo's facility in Shoreham-by-Sea, England, its block architecture descends from a 1980s–90s Nissan VRH racing engine whose IP McLaren acquired via Tom Walkinshaw Racing.
