A hard-charging 2.0-litre turbo four making well over 300 hp with a frenetic top end, the climax of Honda's VTEC philosophy applied to forced induction.

The K20C1 belongs to Honda's revered K-series family and was developed in Japan as the heart of the Civic Type R, Honda's flagship front-drive performance car.

In K20C1 form the Civic Type R has repeatedly set the Nurburgring Nordschleife front-wheel-drive lap record, including a 7:44.881 run in 2023.
Because the lap was lengthened in 2019, the 2023 record was set over a longer official Nordschleife than the car's earlier sub-eight-minute time.
It descends from the same K-series architecture that powered earlier naturally aspirated Type R engines famed for their VTEC top-end.
