A stout, torque-led commercial diesel built for hauling, delivering its pull low in the rev range for loaded vans and motorhomes.

The Ducato is co-developed by FCA and PSA and built at the Sevel joint-venture plant; its 2.2L diesel exists in two forms — Fiat's own MultiJet 3 'Family B' from Pratola Serra, Italy, and the PSA-derived DW12 2.2L from Trémery, France, which the European Ducato adopted in 2023.

'MultiJet' refers to Fiat's common-rail technology, which evolved from the company's pioneering Unijet/JTD common-rail diesel injection of the late 1990s.
The Ducato has been a top platform for European campervan and motorhome conversions for decades.
Sevel, the factory building it, has been a Fiat-PSA joint venture since 1981, giving the van a genuinely cross-brand heritage.
