The engine

5.0L V8 Twin-Turbo

Twin-Turbo V8

A flat-plane-crank, flywheel-less V8 engineered for instant, savage throttle response and a sky-high redline, with a hard, even-firing snarl unlike most American-style cross-plane V8s.

Designed and built entirely in-house at Koenigsegg in Angelholm, Sweden; in the CC850 it doubles as a 20-years-of-production tribute and a nod to founder Christian von Koenigsegg's 50th birthday.

It runs no flywheel, making it one of the fastest-revving production V8s ever built.
On E85 biofuel it makes substantially more power than on regular gasoline, exploiting the fuel's higher knock resistance.
The CC850 was deliberately built for driver engagement rather than to chase the Jesko's outright track or top-speed records.
