The engine

V8 Twin-Turbo Hybrid

Twin-Turbo V8 Plug-in Hybrid

The SF90's twin-turbo V8 howls toward 8,000 rpm while three electric motors fill in the low end, delivering instant, all-wheel-drive thrust and a 0-100 km/h time around 2.5 seconds.

Built in Maranello, the 4.0L V8 (code F154) descends from the turbocharged engine family that won International Engine of the Year multiple times, and the car's name honours Scuderia Ferrari's 90th anniversary.

It is Ferrari's first series-production plug-in hybrid, combining the V8 with three electric motors for a combined output of about 1,000 PS.
Two of the three motors sit on the front axle, giving this mid-engined Ferrari electric all-wheel drive and torque vectoring at the front.
The SF90 can drive on electric power alone for short distances, a first for a road-going Ferrari.
