The verdict

What's good

  • Active underbody fan generates over a tonne of downforce without any fixed wing drag
  • Naturally aspirated V12 revving to 12,100 rpm is a physical experience no turbocharged car can replicate
  • Only 25 built — each car is bespoke and delivered directly to a named owner
  • Ground-effect aerodynamics derived from F1 research, not adapted road-car technology

What's not

  • Track-only homologation means street use is impossible — trailer to every event
  • Cabin is stripped and physically demanding — unsuitable for anyone not racecraft-trained
  • Service can only be performed by Gordon Murray Automotive's own technicians globally
  • No onboard telemetry or data-logging system — purely analog instrumentation by design

The engine

Cosworth GMA

4.0L Naturally Aspirated V12

A screaming, hyper-responsive naturally aspirated V12 that revves with almost motorcycle-like urgency, building to a frenzied top end while still delivering usable torque from low rpm.

Commissioned by Gordon Murray and designed and built by Cosworth specifically for the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 and T.33; Murray is the engineer behind the legendary McLaren F1.
