The engine

2.88L Twin-Turbo I6 Hybrid

Twin-Turbo V8 Hybrid

A screaming, flat-plane-crank V8 that spins to 11,000 rpm and snarls like a Formula engine, with front e-motors filling the torque gaps for instant, brutal launch. It delivers power with the manic intensity of a race motor rather than the smooth swell of a road car.

Designed and built in Los Angeles by Czinger (the consumer arm of Divergent Technologies), the bespoke 2.88-liter 80-degree V8 was developed in-house alongside the 21C's AI-designed, 3D-printed chassis structure. It is one of the few all-new American hypercar engines of its era.

At roughly 330 hp per liter on its own, it is regarded as the most power-dense production engine in the world.
It uses a lithium-titanate battery rather than conventional lithium-ion, prioritizing rapid charge and discharge for the hybrid system.
The 21C seats driver and passenger in tandem, fighter-jet style, narrowing the body around the engine.
