The verdict

What's good

  • Closest thing to a Formula car with plates
  • Removing the roof unleashes the full V12 assault
  • Downforce lets it corner beyond normal road-car limits
  • Genuine motorsport pedigree in every surface

What's not

  • Cabin is brutally cramped and hard to enter
  • Roof-off travel demands helmet-level commitment
  • Almost no luggage space of any kind
  • Specialist servicing needs are extreme

The engine

RA

6.5L V12 Hybrid

A naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 spinning past 11,000 rpm, backed by a battery-fed electric motor that fills the torque gaps. It is the loudest, highest-revving engine fitted to a road car in the modern era.

Built by Cosworth to an Adrian Newey brief, it was engineered as a stressed chassis member — the gearbox and rear suspension bolt straight to it, exactly as on a Formula 1 car.
