LT2 (Small Block)

6.2L Naturally Aspirated V8

A naturally aspirated pushrod V8 that trades turbo lag for an immediate, linear pull and a hard-edged exhaust note, now barking from behind the driver in the mid-engine Corvette.

The LT2 is the latest evolution of GM's storied Small Block, descended directly from the C7's LT1 and built at GM's Tonawanda, New York engine plant — the heart of Corvette's American performance lineage.

It was the first base Corvette engine to come standard with a dry-sump oiling system, previously reserved for higher trims.
Moving to the mid-engine C8 let engineers relocate the dry-sump tank directly onto the engine with three multistage scavenge pumps.
Despite all the modern tech, it keeps the classic Small Block's compact two-valve, single-cam pushrod architecture.
