A second front motor turns the ID.5 into an all-wheel-drive GTX flagship, layering instant low-end shove and surefooted traction onto the slippery coupe-SUV body for genuinely quick point-to-point pace.

VW's sportier GTX sub-brand — the electric era's answer to GTI/GTD lettering — built on the MEB platform, with the ID.5 serving as the sleeker, more aerodynamic sibling of the ID.4.

GTX is Volkswagen's performance badge for its electric cars, the EV equivalent of the hallowed GTI and GTD names.
The ID.5's coupe roofline helps it achieve a slippery 0.26 drag coefficient, lower than the boxier ID.4 it's based on.
Later GTX versions were uprated to around 335 hp, cutting the 0-62 mph sprint to roughly 5.4 seconds.
