Dual-Motor All-Wheel-Drive Electric

A front-and-rear motor pairing delivers 656 hp and 609 lb-ft with the immediate, quiet shove characteristic of Rivian's adventure-focused EVs, targeting over 300 miles of range.

Engineered by Rivian on an all-new midsize 'skateboard' platform distinct from the larger R1, designed to be more affordable and to be shared with the smaller upcoming R3.

The R2's platform is not mechanically related to the R1 and was created to scale Rivian to a higher-volume, lower-price segment.
It adopts the NACS charging standard, taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 29 minutes.
The battery is a structural skateboard pack integrated into the floor to free up cabin and storage space.
