Tigershark

2.4L MultiAir I4

A naturally aspirated four that breathes through Fiat's clever camless-style intake valves, giving crisp throttle response and a willingness to rev for a workaday van engine.

Co-developed by Chrysler and Fiat engineers as the next-generation 'World Gas Engine,' the 2.4 Tigershark debuted in the 2013 Dodge Dart and powers the ProMaster City — itself a rebadged Fiat Doblò.

Its MultiAir 2 system uses electro-hydraulic actuators to control each cylinder's valve opening AND closing independently, rather than a conventional camshaft profile.
Though based on the older World Gas Engine, the 2.4 Tigershark shares almost 90% new or redeveloped components with it.
