Dual-Motor Electric

In all-wheel-drive trim a rear permanent-magnet motor does the heavy lifting while a front asynchronous motor adds grip on demand, giving instant, near-silent torque and a rear-biased, planted feel uncommon in a van or family crossover.

Built on Volkswagen's MEB modular electric platform, the rear unit is the new APP550 drive developed in-house by VW Group and shared across Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda EVs.
