Dual-Motor Electric AWD

Two permanently-excited synchronous motors deliver shove-you-back instant torque with fully variable AMG 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, the rear-biased tuning giving it a genuine performance-SUV personality rather than a numb EV one.

Built on Mercedes' bespoke EVA2 electric architecture and developed by AMG in Affalterbach, with motors given AMG-specific windings, laminations and inverters versus the standard EQE.

The AMG motors use special windings and a unique inverter to spin to higher rpm than the standard EQE drive units, unlocking more power.
With the AMG Dynamic Plus package and a boost function, the related EQE 53 powertrain reaches up to roughly 687 hp on overboost.
The pack uses pouch-cell lithium-ion modules rather than the cylindrical cells common in many rival EVs.
