3.8L NA V6

A smooth, free-revving all-aluminum six that pulls cleanly to high rpm with a refined, unstressed character rather than drama, making it the quiet workhorse of Hyundai's big crossovers.

Part of Hyundai's Lambda V6 family launched in 2005 as the group's flagship six; the 3.8L is the largest of the family and in GDi form powers the Palisade and its Kia Telluride twin.

The 2019-era 3.8 GDi runs an unusually high 13.0:1 compression ratio and an Atkinson-cycle capability for efficiency.
Lambda V6 production has spanned both Hyundai's Asan, South Korea plant and, for a time, the Montgomery, Alabama factory in the US.
With the Palisade's move to a 3.5L for 2026, the Lambda 3.8 became one of the last naturally aspirated V6s in Hyundai's lineup.
