A naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 prized for its smooth, linear delivery and a free-revving character enthusiasts now miss in the turbo era.

Part of Toyota's long-running GR engine family; the direct-injection 2GR-FKS variant arrived in 2015 and traces lineage back to the 2004 2GR-FE that replaced the 1MZ-FE V6 and the legendary 2JZ inline-six.

The D-4S system runs both direct and port fuel injection, switching squirters depending on load.
It can shift from the Otto cycle to the more efficient Atkinson cycle using wide-range VVT-iW intake cam timing.
