Pentastar

3.6L V6

A smooth, refined 60-degree DOHC V6 that trades drama for flexibility, pulling cleanly across the rev range in everything from minivans to muscle coupes.

A clean-sheet design introduced for 2011 to consolidate Chrysler's tangled web of older V6s into a single modern aluminum family; it's built at the Trenton Engine Complex in Michigan and at Saltillo, Mexico.

It was originally going to be called 'Phoenix,' but a trademark conflict forced the switch to 'Pentastar,' a nod to Chrysler's five-pointed star logo dating to 1963.
Stellantis has built well over 16 million Pentastar engines, with the 3.6-liter being by far the most common variant.
The family was engineered in several displacements (3.0, 3.3, 3.6 and 4.0L) from one shared architecture to cover an enormous range of vehicles.
