Twin-Turbo 6.0L V12

A hand-built twin-turbo V12 prized for its silken, near-silent torque and effortless, seamless thrust, the kind of power delivery that defines Maybach's serene luxury character.

Coded M279, it is the latest evolution of the legendary M275/M279 V12 family from Mercedes; it is hand-assembled and lives on almost exclusively in the Maybach S 680.

This V12 family is widely regarded as Mercedes' last line of twelve-cylinder engines, with the brand winding it down under tightening emissions rules.
The M279 added forged pistons and a forged steel crankshaft over its M275 predecessor for greater strength.
As AMG shifts toward electrification, the M275/M279 line is set to go down in history as Mercedes' final V12.
