Built on Mercedes-Benz's dedicated EVA2 electric platform; the EQE SUV is produced at the Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The rear motor is a permanently excited synchronous unit whose magnetized rotor needs no electrical supply of its own, improving efficiency.
Its rear drive unit uses a six-phase design with two separate three-phase windings for smoother, more robust power delivery.
The rear-drive 350+ trades the AWD model's extra traction for roughly 50 extra miles of EPA range thanks to lower weight.
