Two permanently-excited synchronous motors deliver Range Rover's signature wave of effortless, silent torque, with slip control reacting roughly 100 times faster than a combustion driveline for uncanny low-traction composure.

The first fully battery-electric Land Rover, riding on JLR's Modular Longitudinal Architecture, the same multi-powertrain backbone under the petrol and plug-in Range Rover, with its battery designed and built in-house.

• The 800-volt pack uses 344 prismatic cells in a double stack for about 117 kWh of capacity.
• JLR claims its torque slip-control reacts in roughly one millisecond, far quicker than a mechanical system.
• Despite going electric, it keeps Range Rover credentials with a wading depth of about 33 inches and over 7,700 lb of towing.
