The engine

Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG)

Twin-Turbo I3 Hybrid

A featherweight three-cylinder that revs to 8,500 rpm and pumps out around 600 PS on its own, combining with three motors for ferocious, instant hybrid thrust that fires the Gemera to 62 mph in under two seconds.

Designed in-house at Koenigsegg in Angelholm, Sweden, the TFG showcases the company's own Freevalve camless technology spun out from founder Christian von Koenigsegg's research.

It has no camshafts at all, using Freevalve's individually actuated valves to control timing and lift electronically.
Despite making roughly 300 hp per liter, the whole engine weighs only about 70 kg and is flex-fuel capable.
Koenigsegg ultimately dropped the three-cylinder Gemera option after nearly every customer chose the twin-turbo V8 instead.
