The verdict

What's good

  • W12 engine's torque delivery is linear and effortless from just above idle
  • 2+2 rear seats are genuinely usable for adults on trips under two hours
  • Ride quality in Comfort mode rivals dedicated limousines despite the sport tuning
  • Continental GT resale values hold unusually well in the used GT market

What's not

  • Rear seat headroom is limited for anyone over six feet tall
  • Infotainment touchscreen can feel unresponsive in cold weather conditions
  • Annual maintenance costs are high even against direct Rolls-Royce and Ferrari rivals
  • Front-to-rear weight balance means body roll appears sooner than the performance credentials suggest

The engine

6.0L Twin-Turbo W12

6.0L Twin-Turbo W12

Bentley's 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 is a masterpiece of smooth, silent muscle — two narrow-angle V6s sharing a crank to make a hugely powerful engine short enough to fit a grand tourer's nose.

A Volkswagen Group engineering tour de force unique to Bentley, the W12 was hand-built at Crewe for two decades before being retired in 2024 in favor of a hybrid V8.
