Dual Electric Motors

Twin permanent-magnet motors give the EX90 brisk, quiet all-wheel-drive thrust with a heavy slug of low-end torque, tuned for calm, secure progress rather than tire-shredding theatrics.

Volvo's electric flagship rides on the SPA2 platform, a dedicated-EV evolution of the Scalable Product Architecture that underpinned much of Volvo's modern lineup.

The EX90 launched as a technology flagship carrying lidar integrated into its roofline for its driver-assistance and safety systems.
It uses two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, one per axle, for standard electric all-wheel drive.
On a capable DC fast charger it supports roughly 250 kW, making 10-80% sessions of about 30 minutes realistic.
