A peppy, lightweight front-driver whose instant torque amplifies Mini's signature go-kart feel, eager and darty rather than outright fast.

Launched in 2020 as the electric version of the third-generation Mini Hatch under BMW, with a drivetrain lifted directly from the pioneering BMW i3.

Its traction motor is the same unit used in the BMW i3, simply remounted for front-wheel drive.
It traces back to the 2008 Mini E, a limited fleet leased to a few hundred US drivers whose power and range were already close to this production car.
Despite modern hardware, its relatively small battery keeps it light and nimble compared to heavier rival EVs.
