The hand-built hot-vee AMG V8 backed by a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers its boost in an instant, ten-second surge, giving a thunderous V8 voice with an electrified hammer-blow on top.

AMG's handcrafted M177 4.0-litre biturbo V8 mated to a P3 hybrid system whose battery was developed with the Brixworth F1 team, built in Affalterbach on the 'one man, one engine' principle.

The electric motor lives inside the rear differential housing rather than at the crankshaft, sending drive straight to the rear axle.
The small 6.1 kWh battery is tuned for rapid charge and discharge like an F1 unit, not long EV range.
Mercedes claims this four-door can out-accelerate the F1-engined AMG One in real-world conditions.
