Ford's electrified twins: the Mustang Mach-E rides on the dedicated GE1 platform derived from the C2 architecture, while the F-150 Lightning uses dual in-board motors mounted at each axle for standard four-wheel drive.

For 2024, the Mach-E GT's Performance Upgrade borrowed a motor design from the F-150 Lightning to push output to 700 lb-ft of torque.
The Lightning places one motor at each axle rather than in the wheels, making all-wheel drive standard across the lineup.
Despite weighing far more than a Mach-E, the Lightning matches it for instantaneous torque thanks to its truck-grade dual-motor setup.
