Dual-Motor Electric AWD

Two motors give crisp, immediate all-wheel-drive acceleration with a rear-biased torque split that lends the otherwise sober liftback a surprisingly playful, performance-tuned edge.

Built on the Volvo-derived CMA platform by Polestar, an affiliate of Volvo Cars and Geely, with roots in Volvo's Swedish touring-car racing past.

Polestar began life as Volvo's motorsport and performance arm before spinning off into a standalone electric brand.
The car's design descends from the Volvo Concept 40.2 penned under design chief Thomas Ingenlath.
Higher-output dual-motor versions were tuned to around 470 hp, with the rear motor carrying the bias for a sportier balance.
