Twin-Turbo V6

A muscular, low-rpm torque machine that pulls hard from just off idle and replaces V8 grunt with boosted urgency, swapping a burble for a deep turbocharged whoosh under load.

Built at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant on the Cyclone/Duratec 35 block, it grew out of the 2007 Lincoln MKR 'TwinForce' concept before EcoBoost branding launched in 2009.

A race-bred version of this same V6 powered the Ford GT supercar and won the GTE Pro class at the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours.
The second-generation truck version adds port injection alongside direct injection to fight intake-valve carbon buildup.
In the F-150, its BorgWarner turbos can spin up to around 170,000 rpm.
