1.2L Turbo I3

The boosted EB three-cylinder builds useful torque from low revs for a brisk, flexible feel that punches above its small capacity. It suits relaxed urban and motorway driving more than hard revving.

The turbocharged EB2DTS member of PSA/Stellantis's PureTech family, introduced in 2014 and built at Trémery in France, used across Citroën, Peugeot and DS models including the C4 and C5 X.

The turbo PureTech family was named International Engine of the Year in its capacity class for several consecutive years from 2015.
It uses direct injection partly to cool the intake charge, allowing a higher compression ratio under boost than a port-injected turbo would tolerate.
Its turbo is sized for quick low-rev response rather than big peak airflow, giving strong early torque at around 1,750 rpm.
