The engine

LT4

Supercharged V8

A supercharged pushrod V8 with a menacing supercharger whine layered over deep V8 thunder, delivering a relentless, immediate wall of torque from just off idle.

The LT4 is hand-built at GM's Performance Build Center within the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant that also builds the Corvette, and traces its lineage through the C7 Corvette Z06, Camaro ZL1 and previous CTS-V.

Each CT5-V Blackwing LT4 is assembled by a single builder, who signs it with a personalized name plaque, much like AMG's one-man-one-engine ethos.
It is built in the same Bowling Green campus that is home to the Chevrolet Corvette.
The CT5-V Blackwing remains available with a standard six-speed manual sending all power to the rear wheels.
