The verdict

What's good

  • Available with a real manual gearbox
  • One of the last great V-engine sport sedans
  • Track-ready yet livable every day
  • Steering full of feel and feedback

What's not

  • Cabin trails German rivals in polish
  • Tight back seat for passengers
  • Power only to the rear wheels
  • Some shared-parts switchgear feels cheap

The engine

LF4

Twin-Turbo V6

A hand-built twin-turbo V6 that spins to a high redline and delivers a hard, urgent surge, giving the smallest Blackwing a ferocity that belies its compact dimensions.

The LF4 is a GM engine that debuted in the previous Cadillac ATS-V and was carried over and revived for the CT4-V Blackwing, keeping rear-drive and an available manual.
