Twin-Turbo V6

A ferocious, high-revving V6 that pulls cleanly past 7,500 rpm with a hard, exotic edge, marking Maserati's return to building its own engines after years of Ferrari-sourced units.

Designed and built entirely by Maserati in Modena, near Maserati Corse's historic base, and named Nettuno (Neptune) after the trident-wielding god of the brand's logo.

Its Maserati Twin Combustion system borrows Formula 1 pre-chamber 'turbulent jet ignition' for road use, firing a small charge in a pre-chamber to ignite the main mixture.
It uses a dual spark-plug-per-cylinder layout: one in the pre-chamber, one in the combustion chamber.
Its roughly 210 hp per liter is an unusually high specific output for a road-car engine.
